Hudson & Grandad Bob

By Denise Owen

For Hudson our grandson with loads of love from Nan Grandad

Hudson held Grandad Bob's hand as they walked onto the bright, sunny beach. Grandad Bob wore his favorite blue Chelsea t-shirt and blue jeans, with his short silver-grey hair shining in the sun. Beside them bounced Shadow, a husky with brown and white fur and a big curly tail.

Hudson and Grandad Bob dug their plastic spades deep into the golden sand. Together, they built a giant sandcastle with a moat for tiny crabs. Then, they kicked off their shoes to paddle in the cool, splashy sea waves.

Next, it was time for the fun fairground! Hudson giggled as he rode a fast yellow car, waving to Grandad Bob. Grandad Bob cheered loudly and waved back with a great big smile.

Inside the noisy amusement arcade, colorful lights flashed everywhere. Grandad Bob helped Hudson press the big red buttons to win fun games. Shadow waited happily outside, wagging his tail.

Tummies were rumbling, so they sat on a bench to eat warm fish and chips. Grandad Bob shared a tiny piece of fish with Shadow. The tasty meal made everyone feel happy and full.

After lunch, they walked along the beach to look for shiny shells. Hudson found a smooth pink shell and showed it to Grandad Bob. Shadow sniffed the sand and helped them search.

Later, they took Shadow for a long walk through the grassy park. Hudson ran straight to the playground and zoomed down the big red slide. Grandad Bob caught him at the bottom with a huge hug!

As the sun began to set, Shadow lifted his nose and let out a funny howl just like a wolf! Hudson and Grandad Bob laughed and howled right along with him. What a wonderful day at the seaside!
