Lola is four years old. She is kind and funny, with a little bun on top of her head and rosy cheeks. She wears pink pajamas with tiny cherries and dreams of the moon.

One sunny morning Lola finds big cardboard boxes, tape, and markers. She drags them to the living room and says, "I will build a rocket!" She hums a happy tune as she works.

Lola paints bright stars and a big smiley face on her rocket. She sticks on shiny stickers and draws a round window. Then she counts, "Three, two, one... blast off!"

In Lola's imagination the rocket whooshes up into the sky. It lands with a soft bump on the bumpy, gray moon. Lola climbs out and makes little moon footprints.

A small alien appears with round eyes and a friendly wave. It chirps a funny sound like "beep beep." Lola giggles and says hello.

Lola offers the alien a cookie from her pocket. The alien shares bright moonberries that taste like tiny sparkles. They hop and play because the moon makes them bounce high and slow.

When the stars begin to twinkle, Lola knows it's time to go home. The alien gives her a shiny pebble to remember their day. They hug and promise to play again.

Back in her bed, Lola tucks the pebble under her pillow. She yawns and smiles as she thinks of her new friend on the moon. Lola closes her eyes and dreams of more silly space adventures.
