To my lovely teachers, Miss Warner and Miss Thornton
The big day had finally arrived! Lola felt a flutter of butterflies in her tummy as she put on her new uniform. She was a little nervous, but mostly very excited to start school for real. She grabbed her bag, ready for a new adventure.

At the classroom door, Miss Warner was waiting with a giant, sunny smile. "Welcome, Lola!" she beamed. Gentle Miss Thornton was there too, helping everyone find their coat pegs and settle into their first morning activities.

Her first day went by in a happy blur of colour and noise. Lola learned a funny song in Music class and listened to new words in her French lesson. There was so much to see and do!

Lola couldn't believe how big the school building was compared to nursery. Sometimes the long corridors felt a little bit scary. But as long as she held Miss Thornton or Miss Warner's hand, she felt safe and snug.

Over the next few weeks, Lola had so many fun surprises. She loved Forest School, where she played outdoors in the fresh air. She even found mysterious, magical messages left by the fairies just for her!

Miss Warner told the class all about her big black dog named Dexter. Lola was so lucky that she even got to take Dexter home for a weekend visit! It was very special to look after him.

Lola’s reading and writing got better and better every single day. Because she was such a good girl and helped tidy up, she won lots of shiny rainbow drops. She loved dropping the glass marbles into the jar with a clink.

There were always exciting things to do, like hopping on the big bus for school trips. PE lessons were hard work but great fun. Lola also loved creating pictures in Drawing Club and twirling around in Dance Club.

Outside, there was a special covered play area with a big soft sandpit. Lola liked to dig in the sand and put on silly puppet shows. Miss Thornton and Miss Warner always clapped for her funny stories.

Lola made new friends on the playground, getting stronger and braver every day. Lunchtime was delicious, and Miss Thornton helped her stay calm when it got too noisy. Miss Warner was amazed that Lola could count all the way to one hundred!

It was nearly Christmas, and time for the Nativity play. Miss Warner directed the show while Lola and her friends dressed up as fluffy white sheep. Lola was a brilliant sheep and danced her very best.

The term ended with a Christmas party full of dinosaurs and dancing! Lola looked forward to a rest, but she couldn't wait for her second term. "Merry Christmas, Miss Warner and Miss Thornton," she cheered. "Thanks for everything!"
