The Forgotten Forest Tale

By Pavs

One sunny morning, Aila put on her bright red cloak and skipped toward the edge of the woods. She was looking for the magical Star Blossom, a flower that glowed like the moon and bring joy wherever it bloomed. "I am ready for an adventure!" she cheered with a big, curious smile.

Aila heard a tiny squeak coming from a pile of leaves. A small squirrel was stuck under a heavy branch. "Don't worry, little friend," Aila said gently as she lifted the wood. The squirrel scurried away, chattering a happy thank you.

The path grew narrow, and purple butterflies danced in the air around her. Suddenly, a wide, rushing river blocked her way. Aila stopped and frowned, her heart beating a little faster. "Oh no," she whispered, "how will I ever get across?"

A giant turtle poked his head out of the blue water. "Hop on my shell," the turtle said in a slow, deep voice. Aila trusted the turtle and held her red cloak tight…. They floated safely to the other side.

In a quiet clearing, Aila found a grand, silver tree with a face in the bark. "Who goes there?" the Wise Tree asked. "It is Aila," she replied bravely. "I am looking for the Star Blossom to see its beautiful light."

The Wise Tree rustled his leaves and looked down at her. "The flower only blooms for those who are kind to others,” the Tree rumbled. Just then, the little squirrel ran up and placed a nut at Aila's feet to show she was a friend.

The Tree smiled, and his branches parted to reveal a soft, glowing light. It was the Star Blossom, shimmering like a tiny star on the forest floor! Aila clapped her hands with joy. Aila wanted to pick it, but she remembered the Tree’s words. Instead, she simply watched it sparkle.

“Thank you for the magic,” Aila whispered to her new friends. As she walked home under the evening sky, the forest seemed brighter than before. Aila smiled, knowing that kindness was the strongest magic of all.
