For Alfie, Lola and Harry
The local museum was usually a quiet place filled with dusty dinosaur bones, but today six-year-old Alfie noticed something strange. Tucked behind a giant mammoth skeleton was a shiny metal door left slightly ajar. Being clever but a little nervous, Alfie took a deep breath and squeezed through the crack. He found himself standing in a high-tech science lab filled with bubbling beakers!

In the center of the room sat a single, glowing green bottle labeled "Medicine for Growing Taller." Alfie had always been the shortest in his class, and the liquid inside looked like delicious lime syrup. Without thinking, he uncorked the bottle and took a big gulp of the swirling green juice. Instantly, his tummy felt warm and his toes began to tingle.

Before Alfie could even blink, his head shot up past the lab tables and bumped right into the ceiling! He had grown absolutely massive, his sneakers bursting at the seams as he towered over the scientific equipment. He felt incredibly clumsy and very, very scared. Suddenly, a wicked, bubbling laugh echoed from the glass bottle he still held in his giant hand.

The remaining green liquid oozed out of the glass bottle and grew right before Alfie's giant eyes. The puddle shifted and twisted until it formed a creature with swirly patterns all over its green body. The seven-year-old potion monster opened its swirly, hypnotic eyes and stretched out five long, wobbly arms. "I am Terror, and my trick worked perfectly!" the creature hissed with an evil grin.

"You thought it was medicine, but now you will be giant forever!" Terror cackled, lunging forward with his five sticky hands. Alfie let out a terrified yelp and scrambled backward, smashing his head against the door frame. He squeezed his massive body back out of the lab and into the museum hallways. He had to find a way to fix this before he was stuck as a giant!

Alfie stomped clumsily past the ancient mummy exhibits, his heavy footsteps shaking the entire museum. Right behind him, Terror slithered across the marble floor, his swirly eyes spinning with wicked delight. "Come back here, giant boy!" Terror shouted, throwing sticky green globs from his five hands. Alfie ducked just in time, nearly knocking over a priceless knight in shining armor.

The clever six-year-old realized he could use his giant size to his advantage. He grabbed a massive dinosaur bone and slid it across the hallway to block the path. Terror just laughed, using his five arms to easily climb right over the makeshift barricade. Alfie's heart pounded in his chest as he desperately searched for a place to hide.

In his frantic rush, Alfie took a wrong turn down the paleontology wing and ended up exactly where he started. He had circled all the way back to the hidden metal door of the secret science lab! He squeezed his giant shoulders through the frame just as Terror rounded the corner. Alfie frantically scanned the tables for anything that could undo the monster's evil trick.

Nestled in a bucket of ice was a small, glowing pink bottle with the words "Shrinking Solution" written in bold letters. Alfie's giant fingers clumsily fumbled with the tiny cork, almost dropping the slippery glass. Terror burst into the room, his five arms reaching out to snatch the bottle away. With a desperate gulp, Alfie tossed the pink liquid into his mouth.

In a flash of sparkling pink light, Alfie felt the world around him zooming upward. The lab tables returned to their normal height, and his clothes suddenly fit perfectly again. He had returned to his normal size, safe and sound! However, Terror was not ready to give up his evil plan.

The swirly green monster leaped off a stool, aiming all five hands right at Alfie. But because Alfie was small again, the monster completely misjudged the distance and soared right over his head. Terror crashed face-first into a pile of empty glass beakers and tripped over a long rubber hose. With a loud splash, the evil creature spilled all over the floor and melted away.

The swirling green puddle magically sucked itself backward into an empty glass bottle, turning back into harmless, quiet liquid. Alfie tightly corked the bottle, kindly placing it on a safe shelf so nobody else would get hurt. Feeling very brave but ready for a nap, the clever little boy snuck out of the museum. He walked all the way home, quite happy to just be his regular, normal size.
