Happy Mothers Day

By Lola Rose Perkin

For Mummy. I love you more than the whole world.

The sun peeked through the curtains on a very special Sunday. Four-year-old Lola woke up extra early and tiptoed to Mummy's room. Mummy Jess was still fast asleep, snoring softly. Lola crept downstairs as quiet as a mouse to finish her secret surprise.

Lola proudly carried a tray up to Mummy's bedroom. She brought a cup of tea in a brand new mug covered in pictures of Lola and Mummy. She also had bright orange flowers, yummy chocolates, and a special card. Lola even made a beautiful paper flower at school using her own painted handprints!

"Happy Mother's Day!" Lola shouted, jumping onto the bed for a giant cuddle. Mummy smiled a huge smile and gave Lola the biggest hug ever. After their cozy cuddle, Lola helped Daddy make a towering stack of fluffy pancakes for breakfast. Mummy ate them all up with sticky, sweet syrup.

Later that morning, it was time for Lola's friend Luna's birthday party. They went to a loud and silly soft play center called Medieval Madness. Mummy wasn't sure if a noisy party was a relaxing way to spend her special day. But soon, she was giggling and having the best time!

Mummy and Lola bounced as high as frogs in the bouncy castle. They raced each other through the colorful tunnels and jumped into the ball pit. The best part was zooming down the giant bumpy slide together. Mummy laughed so hard her tummy hurt!

After all that bouncing, Lola, Mummy, and funny Daddy went for a lovely walk. They stomped through the green countryside and listened to the birds sing. Daddy made silly jokes that made Lola and Mummy giggle the whole way. It was the perfect afternoon adventure.

When they got home, Lola and Daddy put on their aprons to cook a giant roast dinner. Soon, the house was filled with hungry guests. Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Sophie, and cousins Harry and Alfie all came to eat. Everyone agreed it was the most delicious feast ever!

The sun went down and it was finally time for Lola to sleep. Mummy tucked her into bed and gave her one last, super tight cuddle. "Thank you for the best Mother's Day ever," Mummy whispered. Lola smiled sleepily, knowing it had been a truly lovely day.
