The crowd cheered and the flags waved in the sun. Harry sat on a blue seat and watched the match with wide eyes. He loved every kick and shout.

His favourite player wore the number ten shirt and ran fast. Harry dreamed of kicking goals just like him. He clapped louder every time the player got the ball.

Suddenly the favourite player fell down and held his leg. The crowd went quiet and the coach ran over. The player smiled but could not stand.

The coach looked around for someone to help. Harry's heart thumped. He stood up and offered to step in.

They gave Harry a spare shirt and a small pair of boots. He put them on and felt butterflies in his tummy. His teammates patted his back and shouted, 'You can do it!'

Harry ran onto the green field and chased the bouncing ball. He passed to a friend and then ran to the goal. He kept trying even when he felt tired.

In the last minute Harry saw a chance and kicked the ball with all his might. It flew into the net and the crowd shouted, 'Goal!' His team jumped and hugged him.

After the match the favourite player came over and smiled at Harry. 'Thank you,' he said and gave Harry his scarf. Harry felt proud and happy to have helped his team win.
