Marvellous Materials

By K.K

Mimi was spinning around in her sparkly clothes when her elbow bumped the table. Uh oh! Her red juice cup tumbled right off the edge. It hit the floor with a loud thump.

Mimi blinked her long eyelashes and looked down. She thought the cup would be in tiny pieces, but it was perfectly fine! Her bouncing ponytail swished as she picked it up. The cup did not break because it was made of tough plastic.

This made Mimi very curious. She tapped the plastic cup and smiled. What else in her house was made of special stuff? She decided to go on a marvellous material hunt!

First, she looked at the big window in the living room. She tapped it gently with her finger. The window was made of glass so she could see the sunny sky outside. Glass is hard and clear, but it can break if dropped!

Next, Mimi skipped over to the heavy dining table. She rubbed her hand across the smooth top. The table was made of strong wood from a big tree. Wood is perfect for holding lots of yummy food plates.

In the kitchen, Mimi found her favorite shiny spoon. She looked at her funny reflection in the scoop. The spoon was made of cold, hard metal. Metal is very strong and makes a loud clink when it taps a bowl!

Mimi felt a little tired from all her exploring. She hugged her favorite fluffy teddy bear. The bear was made of soft fabric and squishy cotton. Fabric is the perfect material for cuddling and keeping warm.

Mimi smoothed down her sparkly clothes and smiled. The world was full of so many marvellous materials! Plastic, glass, wood, metal, and fabric were all super useful. She could not wait to see what else she could discover tomorrow.
