A big plane swoops low and the wind lifts the hem of Suzie's yellow dress. She stands to the left of the little airport gate, bouncing on her toes and clapping, her face turned up toward the plane. The air smells warm and exciting.

Suzie steps out into Spain and the sun gives a happy hug. People say "hola" and Suzie answers with a bright, "hola!" She skips down the street, holding her hat so the breeze does not blow it away.

At the beach Suzie digs a funny sandcastle with two towers and a moat. Little waves tickle her toes and she finds a shiny shell. She giggles and pats the sand with her hands.

Suzie tries a sweet churro with warm chocolate and claps with delight. "Mmm!" she says, and a friendly vendor laughs. Suzie shares a bite with a new friend.

In the town a guitar plays a happy song and people clap and stamp their feet. Suzie jumps in and tries a tiny flamenco clap and a little stomp. Her yellow dress twirls like a bright sunflower.

At the market Suzie smells oranges and sees colorful scarves and fans. She learns to say "gracias" and "amigo" while she waves a small red fan. Everything is bright and friendly.

As the sun goes down, Suzie has a picnic of cheese and fruit under an orange sky. She watches the plane lights blink and thinks of all her new friends and songs. Her eyes feel heavy and happy.

On the way home Suzie hugs her little red fan and remembers Spain's beaches, music, and churros. She waves and whispers, "adiós, España!" Back on the plane she claps once more, already planning her next sunny adventure.
