The Adventure of Pickle the Pig

By Imogen Follett age 9

Once upon a time, there lived a very unusual pig named Pickle. She was one year old with bright pink skin and beautiful green stripes. Pickle loved rainy days because rain meant one thing: squelchy mud! SPLAT! She rolled around happily until she was completely covered from her snout to her curly tail.

After a warm, bubbly bath, Pickle snuggled beneath her blanket and drifted into a deep sleep. But when she opened her eyes, she was not in her bedroom anymore! She was lying beneath a gigantic purple tree in a magical forest filled with golden butterflies and sparkling flowers.

Suddenly, out popped a tiny, fluffy creature named Pinky. Pinky led Pickle to a tree glowing with magical blue fruit. Pickle usually only ate pink food, but she took a tiny bite. CRUNCH! "Oh wow, that is delicious!" gasped Pickle, and the two became instant friends.

Pinky took Pickle to a tiny orange cottage to meet Pumpkin. Pickle and Pumpkin instantly bonded over their love for pickleball and peanut butter and jam sandwiches! "I think we are going to be best friends!" declared Pickle with a big laugh.

Deep inside a dark and gloomy castle, the wicked Mr Wolf was watching them on secret screens. He slammed his enormous paw onto his desk, determined to rule the forest. "I shall create a magical spell that makes every animal weak!" he cackled wickedly.

Mr Wolf rushed into his secret laboratory and threw spider dust and dragon slime into a gigantic black cauldron. But suddenly... BOOOM! A cloud of purple smoke exploded into the air! He had accidentally mixed up the wrong ingredients.

Meanwhile, the friends were playing pickleball when the thick cloud of purple magical smoke swept across the forest. POOF! All three friends fell to the ground. When Pickle opened her eyes, her green stripes were glowing bright, and her trotters were floating off the ground!

Pickle was flying! Pinky gasped as she suddenly turned completely invisible, while Pumpkin accidentally created giant glowing pumpkins out of thin air. Mr Wolf's accidental potion had not made them weak—it had given them incredible magical superpowers!

Knowing they had to protect the Enchanted Woods, the three super-powered friends marched straight to Mr Wolf's castle. Pumpkin summoned a gigantic magical pumpkin and smashed open the locked wooden doors with a loud CRAAAAASH!

Inside the castle, invisible Pinky tickled Mr Wolf's ear to confuse him, while Pumpkin launched another giant pumpkin right onto his head. Then, flying high above, Pickle used her glowing green stripes to blast a sparkling whirlwind towards the wicked wolf.

WHOOOOOOOSH! The green whirlwind spun Mr Wolf around and around until he landed with a heavy THUD straight into a giant muddy puddle outside. "Yuck!" cried Mr Wolf, while the friends burst into giggles. The Enchanted Woods were saved!

That evening, all the animals celebrated with a magnificent feast of blue fruit and jam sandwiches. After hugging her new best friends, Pickle drifted off to sleep and woke up back in her own bed. Right beside her pillow rested a tiny glowing blue fruit, proving her magical adventure was real!
