The Ark of Nuh (AS)

By Farouk Ouali

Long, long ago, many people forgot about worshiping Allah SWT. Instead of praying to Allah SWT, they prayed to stone statues, that couldn't talk or move. So, Allah SWT chose a very kind and patient man named Prophet Nuh AS to help them. Prophet Nuh said gently, "Please worship Allah SWT alone and be good to one another."

But the people did not want to listen. They covered their ears and laughed at him. "Go away, Nuh!" they shouted. Even though they were mean, Prophet Nuh AS never gave up. For many, many years, he kept trying to show them the right way.

One day, Allah SWT gave Prophet Nuh AS a very special job. "Build a big boat called an Ark," Allah SWT said. "It will keep you and the believers safe." Prophet Nuh AS picked up his heavy tools. *Bang! Tap! Saw!* He started to build the giant wooden ship. Prophet Nuh AS built the Ark on dry land where there was no water at all. The people pointed and laughed even harder. "You are silly, Nuh! Boats need water!" they teased. But Prophet Nuh AS did not mind. He trusted Allah SWT completely and kept working until the Ark was ready.

Allah SWT told Prophet Nuh AS it was time to fill the boat. The believers climbed inside. Then came the animals! Lions, rabbits, and birds marched in two by two. *Roar! Squeak! Tweet!* Everyone found a safe spot inside the strong wooden Ark.

Suddenly, big dark clouds filled the sky. The rain began to fall... and fall... and fall. Prophet Nuh AS called out to his son "Come inside the Ark with us, my son! Trust in Allah!" Nuh cried.

But his son was stubborn and shook his head. "No! I will climb that high mountain. It will keep me safe from the water," he yelled. Sadly, the water rose higher than the mountain, and the son was lost. Only the Ark floated safely on top of the waves.

After a long time, the rain stopped and the water went away. The Ark landed softly on the ground, and everyone stepped out safely. Prophet Nuh AS thanked Allah SWT for saving them. He taught us that no matter what, we must always trust Allah and do the right thing.
