Once upon a time, in a little cottage at the edge of a snowy forest, three children were getting very excited for Christmas.
Their names were Primrose, Penelope and little Finley.
Primrose and Penelope were twins. They did almost everything together and were the very best of friends. Primrose loved anything sparkly, magical and beautiful, while Penelope was caring, sensible and loved helping everyone.

Finley was their little brother. He was the youngest, cheeky, playful and full of mischief. Although he was the smallest, he always had the biggest ideas!
It was Christmas Eve, and the three children were snuggled up in their matching Christmas pyjamas.

"Do you think Father Christmas is really coming tonight?" asked little Finley, bouncing excitedly on the bed.
"Of course he is!" laughed the twins.
"We've left him a mince pie and a carrot for Rudolph," said Penelope.
"And I've sprinkled some Christmas magic by the fireplace," added Primrose.

Just then, something extraordinary happened.
TINKLE, TINKLE, TINKLE!
A tiny golden light appeared outside their bedroom window.
"What's that?" whispered Primrose.
The three children crept downstairs, opened the front door and gasped.
Standing in the snow was a tiny elf wearing a bright red hat, green boots and a very wonky pair of glasses.

"Help!" squeaked the elf. "I'm Twinkle, one of Father Christmas's helpers, and I've gota terrible problem!"
"What is it?" asked Penelope.
"The Christmas Star has disappeared! Withoutit, Father Christmas won't be able to find his way around the world tonight!"
"Oh no!" cried Primrose.
"We'll help you!" shouted little Finley.

And so, the three children followed Twinkle deep into the enchanted forest.
They searched behind the Christmas trees, under the snow-covered mushrooms and even inside a hollow log.
Suddenly, Finley spotted something sparkling.
"LOOK! LOOK! I FOUND IT!"
High up in an old oak tree was the missing Christmas Star, caught between two branches.

"I'll climb up!" said Finley bravely.
"Careful, Finley!" called both twins.
Primrose took a beautiful silver ribbon from herhair and tied it around a nearby branch to help.
Penelope held the branch steady while Primroseencouraged her little brother.
Finley carefully stretched up on his tiptoes.
"Nearly there... nearly there..."
And with one final reach...
GOT IT!

The Christmas Star was safe!
The whole forest lit up with golden sparkles.
Suddenly, a familiar sound filled the sky.
HO! HO! HO!
A beautiful red sleigh appeared above thetrees, pulled by eight magnificent reindeer.
And sitting inside was Father Christmas himself!
"Well, well, well!" he laughed. "Primrose, Penelopeand little Finley! You've saved Christmas!"
He landed his sleigh and gave each child a big hug.

"For your kindness and bravery, I have avery special surprise."
He reached into his enormous red sackand pulled out three beautiful presents.
For Primrose, a beautiful sparkling necklace with a tiny Christmas star.
For Penelope, a magical golden bracelet that sparkled whenever she did something kind.
And for little Finley, a cuddly reindeer called Rudolph Junior that would come alive whenever nobody was looking!

"Thank you, Father Christmas!" the children cheered.
Father Christmas climbed back into his sleigh and waved goodbye.
"Remember, Finley," he called, "you might be the youngest, but you can do the biggest things!"
Finley beamed with pride.
The three children returned home, climbed into bed and fell fast asleep.

The next morning, they woke to find their stockings overflowing and presents underneath the Christmas tree.
Finley was the first one downstairs, of course!
"CHRISTMAS! IT'S CHRISTMAS!" he shouted.
Primrose and Penelope came running down together, giggling and holding hands.
The twins gave each other a big hug before joining their little brother by the Christmas tree.

As they opened their presents together, they knew this had been the most magical Christmas ever.
Because the best Christmas present of all was having each other.
And from that day on, every Christmas Eve, thethree children looked up at the brightest starin the sky and remembered the night that little Finley and his twin big sisters saved Christmas.
