THE DOOR AT THE END OF THE CORRIDOR

By Sun

Nobody used the third floor of the school anymore. At least, that was what everyone said. For a long, long time, teachers had ignored Daniel and his best friend Justin, who asked about the mysterious third floor every single day.

Later that evening, after the school was quiet, the two seven-year-olds decided to go and explore the third floor without letting the teachers know. Standing at the bottom of the dusty stairs, Justin adjusted his Minecraft shirt and took a deep breath. Daniel, wearing his favorite Mario Kart shirt and his bright red cap, pointed up into the shadows.

They crept up the creaky stairs, trying to be as quiet as mice. As they walked, they thought about the rumors they had heard from other students. Rumor had it that strange video game sounds came from the empty floor, especially from popular games like Minecraft and Mario Kart.

"Do you think we will really hear them?" whispered Justin, his cool Jordan shoes squeaking slightly on the steps. Daniel smiled, his dark eyes sparkling with excitement as they reached the top landing.

As they walked through the dark corridor, they suddenly froze. A soft hiss, just like a Minecraft Creeper about to explode, echoed through the air. Right after, the roar of racing car engines seemed to swing past them like a real Mario Kart race.

The boys walked further down the long hallway, their hearts beating fast. The walls around them were painted a deep, pitch black that made the corridor feel endless. But right at the very end, something amazing caught their attention.

At the end of the corridor stood a bright blue door that stood out beautifully against the black wall. A magical blue light glowed from beneath the frame, and Justin could smell the fresh, earthy scent of pixelated grass.

"I guess the rumours were true then mate, they weren’t lying after all," whispered Justin, in an excited but calm voice. His blue eyes shone in the glowing light.

"I guess so, let’s open it shall we?" yelled Daniel. He grinned widely, ready for whatever adventure was waiting behind the mysterious door.

Both of the friends rushed forward and pushed open the heavy blue door with all their strength. As they did, a mystical, magical breeze of warm air came rushing past their faces, tossing Daniel's black hair.

They gasped in wonder as they stepped through the doorway. They had entered a spectacular world of gaming, where hundreds and thousands of video games floated around them inside giant, shimmering bubbles.

"This is magnificent!" Daniel let out the loudest yell ever with all his strength. His happy voice echoed down the endless hallway, filled with endless possibilities and their greatest adventure yet.
