The Magic Force

By Joan Fenton

For JK

Deep in the Lilypad Laboratory lives Frank Force. He is a big, cute toad covered in stars who wears a sparkly magical crown and carries a glowing wand. Frank does not just hop. He uses secret magic to make the whole world move!

Today, Frank is going on a grand adventure to find his special invisible friends. Frank shoots a burst of glitter from his wand and hops down the path. "Let us find the magic forces!" he croaks happily.

Frank climbs to the top of a small stone and jumps high into the sky. He does not float away to the moon, but lands right back on the grass with a soft boof. "That is my friend Greta Gravity!" Frank explains.

Greta looks like a cute, clumsy little girl in old-fashioned clothes who falls down a lot. She is like a giant magnet hidden in the ground. No matter how high you jump, Greta gives you a big invisible hug and pulls you back down to Earth.

Next, Frank finds a big, round pebble blocking his way. He puts his strong toad hands on it and shouts, "Heeeave!" A strong twin boy named Paul Push appears to help. When you push a toy car or move a heavy rock, you are using Paul's power to make things go forward.

Suddenly, Frank sees a yummy fly sitting on a leaf. Zipp-zap goes his long, sticky tongue! Paul's twin sister, Petra Pull, helps Frank bring the tasty treat right back to his mouth. Petra moves things closer to you, just like when you pull on your socks.

Finally, Frank reaches the pond and sits on a little leaf boat. The boat is stuck until a strong, cloud-like girl with big muscles and bright blue eyes huffs and puffs. Whoosh! It is Wanda Wind blowing the boat across the water.

"Thanks, Wanda Wind!" cheers Frank as his sparkly hat blows in the breeze. Wanda loves pushing leaves and flying kites high in the sky. Frank smiles because he knows his magical force friends are always there to help him move and play.
