Tim loves to visit Grandpa. Grandpa has a big, green garden. The sun shines down on the dirt. "Hello, Grandpa!" says Tim. It is a beautiful day outside.

Grandpa shows Tim the little plants. They are baby tomato plants. Tim holds the blue watering can. Splish, splash, splash! The plants drink the water.

The plants grow up, up, up! They get big green leaves. Look closely at the vines. Tiny green balls are hiding there. They are little green tomatoes.

The sun makes the tomatoes warm. Slowly, they change color. They turn from green to bright red. Now they are big, round, and juicy. They are ready!

Tim reaches out his hand. Pluck! He picks a smooth red tomato. Grandpa puts it in a basket. Soon the basket is full of red treats.

They bring the heavy basket inside. Tim helps wash the tomatoes in the sink. Rub, rub, rub with cool water. Now the tomatoes are squeaky clean and shiny.

Grandpa cooks the tomatoes in a pot. Bubble, bubble, pop! The kitchen smells very good. They are making a yummy red sauce for dinner.

Tim and Grandpa sit down to eat. The tomato sauce tastes delicious. "Thank you, Grandpa," says Tim with a smile. Growing food is so much fun!
